I’m so glad that I found Shelly! I saw her weekly for herbs when I had difficulty getting pregnant. The doctors wanted me to get surgery, but instead she prescribed me weekly herbal mixes, in combination with acupuncture, from the colleague who recommended her to me. It would have been more than worth my time and effort to feel healthy and balanced with the help from her treatments, which I did–but more than that, the docs were amazed my issues cleared up, and I had a completely healthy, uncomplicated  pregnancy which culminated with the birth of my son.

Shelly is warm, nurturing, accessible–I always looked forward to our sessions and I highly recommend her services!

I worked with Shelley for a period of 2 years while living in San Diego. We worked on a recurring medical condition that I had not been able to manage previously. That 2 year period with Shelly was the only time I experienced no symptoms! Shelly is a skilled practitioner, equally familiar with the Chinese and Western paradigms. I’d recommend her without hesitation.

As someone who has struggled with severe anxiety and depression their whole life, I had been interested in trying acupuncture for quite some time to see if it would help me manage some of these symptoms as naturally as possible. After getting pregnant I was referred to Shelly by my midwife, and I was ready to give it a go. Little did I know how critical Shelly would become to my overall comfort and well-being during my pregnancy. Within a few weeks of seeing her regularly I noticed my mood had improved, and my anxiety and depression were well-managed on significantly less medication than I had required in the past. In addition, Shelly and her treatments were the only thing that helped terrible back pain that I experienced as a result of the pregnancy. No number of massages, heat, pillows, or other recommendations from my providers helped… with the exception of Shelly. I was able to continue working full time and largely avoid pain medications thanks to Shelly and the amazing work that she does. I cannot recommend Shelly enough for anyone, especially mothers-to-be. She takes time to fully assess you at the start of every session, listen to your concerns and issues, and tailors your treatment to your current symptoms and needs. It is obvious that she cares and truly wants to help, making sure symptoms are alleviated and treatments have been effective.

Shelly is an extremely gifted practitioner, and an equally compassionate soul. I am forever grateful for all that she has done for me, my health, and that of my baby.

Dr. Krahn is extremely knowledgeable, caring, and helpful. She helped to treat some significant medical problems I was experiencing and was a great source of wisdom and support during that difficult time. Dr. Krahn thoroughly assessed, diagnosed, and treated my health issues. She offered thoughtful suggestions to improve my life as a whole and listened respectfully to my concerns and questions. In addition, Dr. Krahn welcomed my emails and responded in a timely manner. I would highly recommend her to anyone in need of an exceptional acupuncturist and wellness provider.

I was three months pregnant with a huge sub-chorionic bleed.  I was told that I would probably lose the pregnancy.  I saw that Shelly specialized in woman’s health issues and contacted her.  I firmly believe that the treatments I received saved my pregnancy.  The doctors were shocked.  Thanks to Shelly I have my beautiful daughter who will be 10 years old in a few months.  Since my daughter was born I have been to Shelly for any health issue or injury and acupuncture has always helped.

Thanks Shelly!

I have been blessed to have Shelly by my side for the last year on my journey through infertility. I could not have made it this far without her. She is insightful, intuitive, courageous, and caring. I could not recommend her highly enough!

I was first treated by Shelly more than two years ago and I continue to see her because she’s just so knowledgeable and approachable. She doesn’t lecture you or try to get you to be “perfect” like a lot of practitioners do, and she takes an integrative approach. She’s encouraging and she gets results. Of course the beauty of acupuncture is that while I was being treated for one thing, I saw improvements in a variety of areas in addition to my main complaint. The fact that many of her clients are other acupuncturists is a testament to her abilities. I keep her on speed dial.

Shelly is amazing. I had unexplained chest pain that put me in the hospital. After many weeks, 11 doctors, countless painkillers, and lots of expensive tests later, no one had an answer for me. I never experienced acupuncture before, but I read that it could help with pain.

So, I made an appointment with Shelly. From the moment I met her, she put me at ease. She really listened to my problems and concerns, explained everything that she was going to do to help, and made me feel like I could trust her. Leaving that appointment, I was so happy because it was the first time I had some relief from the pain. I continued my visits and soon, the pain was completely gone. With a combination of acupuncture and herbs, she cured me. She was able to help when the doctors and hospitals couldn’t.

I have visited Shelly a couple of times for back pain as well and I always walk out feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. I highly recommend Shelly to anyone looking to ease pain without dangerous painkillers.

Shelly has always given me very good nutritional advice. She is very attentive to each patient and really cares.

Shelly, it has been more than three months since I injured myself and started having shoulder and arm pain on my left side. I am glad to let you know that I have completely recovered from my injury. For the last three weeks I have been back to my normal activities and exercises at the gym. Every time I think about the excruciating pain that used to wake me up in the middle of the night, I remember that I should write to you and thank you for the tremendous help that you provided me. You were able to diagnose my problem (i.e, Thoracic Outlet Syndrome). After identifying the source of my pain, with your acupuncture treatment, massage therapy, and recommended physical therapy exercises, I was able to recover 100%. Thanks!

As an acupuncturist myself, I seek out Shelly’s knowledge and expertise in our field.  I’ve had the honor of interning under her shift at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine where I received inside knowledge on treating an array of women’s health issues.  Her shifts are highly sought out and fill up quickly.

On top of being a pioneer in our field, she is so warm hearted and humble.  She is extremely down to earth and goes above and beyond for her students.  I know she does the same for her patients.  She’s a giver and a true healer.  If you’re lucky enough to have her as a practitioner, your health and happiness are in caring capable hands.

I have been receiving care from Shelly for seven years for a medical problem that I did not want to treat with drugs.  Shelly’s treatment has stabilized the condition.  In addition she diagnoses and treats anything that is preventing me from being in the best of health.  Acupuncture works!  And Shelly is the best practitioner that I have found. Try it!  You may surprise yourself.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Shelly Krahn as an acupuncturist as well as a teacher at the Pacific College Of Oriental Medicine.  As a student, Shelly taught my OB/GYN course and was one of my favorite professors at the school.  Although humble, and she would probably fight me on the title, I feel that Shelly Krahn is a true master of her craft.  To teach others at a world-renowned school is to truly know your field.

As a patient, I feel Shelly truly cares about my well being and healing process along with everyone I have seen her work with. She takes a unique, individualized, and fresh approach with each of my personal ailments. What is amazing about her treatments is that they are supported by evidence-based practice.  Shelly is unique because her Eastern-Western approach to medicine ensures that her patients receive the best care.  A great example is when she breaks down a patient’s Western lab results to determine an imbalance (whether it be hormonal, nutritional, etc.).  By using specific evidence-based Acupuncture points and herbs, she corrects the problem, retested the labs, and brings down the out of range levels.

Shelly is a very warm person, which makes it very easy to talk with her about your health.  Whether you are looking for a fertility or health/nutritional specialist, I can wholeheartedly say that you will have yourself in amazing hands.

I am a medically retired Marine Lieutenant Colonel and a Vietnam veteran with a 100% service connected disability and have been receiving acupuncture treatment with electrical stimulation from Shelly Krahn (for the last 4 years) and I am also an OUTPATIENT at the VA hospital since circa 1991.

I had 3 surgeries for an inner ear disorder [ meneire’s disease and vestibular nerve dysfunction ] ; the surgeries included a Stapedectomy for Otosclerosis ; a brain surgery for my vestibular nerve section and tumor removal ; and a final brain surgery to repair the hole punctured in the dura of the brain during the first brain surgery.
After receiving follow-up treatment at the VA, I searched for and found additional help for dealing with the myriad problems associated with having one vice two Vestibular nerves with Shelly Krahn. The problems I sought treatment for were: vertigo, confusion, exhaustion, nausea [motion sickness], severe short-term memory problems, inability to concentrate, etc . The treatment of acupuncture with electrical stimulation has been a lifesaver for me and has enabled me to have a semblance of a normal lifestyle and be able to raise my son.

When I receive acupuncture, it works right into the problem area, with the end result that I get a little more energy and clarity of thought and an obvious positive stimulation of the brain and inner ear. When I first went to her for treatment I had to lay down at least 50% of each day (24/7), and couldn’t concentrate on anything for more than 15 minutes without getting nauseous and being exhausted.. NOW, I can do so for several hours and only have to lay down about 20% of my awake hours.  .. This treatment works ! Also, although the Vestibular nerve is not known to regenerate , but the treatment is keeping the remaining Vestibular nerve strong and functional to make up for the missing nerve on the right side . I can FEEL growth and progress and it gives me hope that some day I can be as close to living a normal life as possible.
SHELLY KRAHN is the most knowledgeable, compassionate, prepared and dedicated health care professional I have ever met in my 65 years of life (and I’ve met A LOT of them.) I would  HIGHLY RECOMMEND that she be included as a recommended acupuncturist, and incredible source of help to my injured and sick fellow veterans. To NOT do so would be a mistake and a loss to those in need of real healing without relying on drugs and a loss to the VA in general.

Fifteen years of superb health care!  That’s what I’ve received from Shelly. As I get older, more things fall apart, but she can do amazing repairs: gums, eyes, hearing, back, arthritis in my hands, and chest pains that mystified the medical doctors. She’s always adding to her superb store of knowledge.  We’re lucky to have Shelly available to us!
